Vona Groarke

Hereafter is a book of poems, lyric prose and historical fact about Irish Domestic Servants in New York at the end of the nineteenth century, focusing on one such woman, Ellen O’Hara, Vona Groarke’s great-grandmother. Groarke has been researching and drafting this book for the past nine months. Her Bogliasco Fellowship will allow her to focus on refining it to final edit stage. The four weeks there will allow her to complete and polish the project, and to bring it, she hopes, to fruition.

Hereafter è un libro di poesie, prosa lirica e avvenimenti storici sui domestici irlandesi a New York alla fine del XIX secolo, incentrato in particolare su una di queste donne, Ellen O'Hara, la bisnonna di Vona Groarke.
