Theodora Skipitares

Theodora Skipitares will work on The Life of Benjamin Banneker: A Parade, an outdoor, nighttime pageant to take place in Brooklyn in 2021. The parade is a traveling performance set on seven flatbed trucks featuring a marching band, 12-foot puppet figures, shadow puppetry, and moving projection screens. During her residency, she will visit Viareggio to witness the renowned Carnevale and to research parade histories and techniques.

Theodora Skipirates lavorerà a The Life of Benjamin Banneker: A Parade. Si tratta di uno spettacolo itinerante notturno all’aperto che si terrà a Brooklyn nel 2021. La parata è una performance itinerante composta da sette camion con pianale, una banda musicale, marionette alte tre metri e mezzo, ombre cinesi e schermi di proiezione semoventi. Nel corso della residenza si recherà a Viareggio per assistere al famoso Carnevale e per studiare la storia delle parate e le varie tecniche utilizzate.
