Susan Yankowitz

Susan Yankowitz will be working on a play about the 1872 trial of Susan B. Anthony, who was charged with unlawfully voting for president – she, in the words of the indictment, “being then and there a person of the female sex.” While the trial, based on transcripts, is the centerpiece of the drama, Yankowitz will be creating additional scenes that radiate out from it, involving parallel or contrapuntal themes. Anthony, che venne accusata di voto illegale per la nomina del presidente – in base alle parole dell'accusa, "essendo lei in quel momento e in quel luogo una persona di sesso femminile".
