Holly Hughes will be working on a solo theater piece entitled Indelible in the Hippocampus Is the Laughter which explores victim testimony in sexual assault cases as a kind of
endurance art akin to the performances of Marina Abramović and Yoko Ono. The work, her sixth solo, hopes to provoke questions about a legal system which requires victims to create a public spectacle of their most intimate suffering while failing to address structural issues that allow abuse to flourish.
