Curator Christine Kondoleon will work on her essay for her exhibition on Twombly and antiquity for the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and The Getty Center (2020-2021). Of the great American artists of the last half-century, Twombly stands apart for choosing to live outside the USA and for his immersion in the Mediterranean culture. Viewers and readers alike will experience the “Mediterranean effect” and discover the deep engagement he had with ancient writings and artifacts.
Cy Twombly: A Mediterranean Journey
La curatrice Christine Kondoleon lavorerà ad alcuni saggi per la mostra dedicata a Twombly e l'antichità che si terrà al Museum of Fine Arts di Boston e al Getty Center (2020-2021). Twombly si differenzia da tutti gli artisti americani degli ultimi cinquant’anni per aver scelto di vivere fuori dagli Stati Uniti, immerso nella cultura mediterranea. Il pubblico e i lettori sperimenteranno il cosidetto “effetto mediterraneo” e il profondo legame dell’artista con gli antichi scritti e manufatti.
