The Alegro Society recognizes your generosity when you provide for the Bogliasco Foundation and Liguria Study Center for the Arts and Humanities with a planned gift. Such gifts provide crucial support to sustain the Foundation’s mission of providing residential fellowships for exceptional artists and scholars from around the world.

A bequest of any size qualifies a donor for membership in the Alegro Society, which offers recognition in publications and on the website, as well as invitations to special events.

A Gift through Your Will
A planned gift to the Bogliasco Foundation can be made as a bequest through your will. Bequests may also help you meet your financial and estate-planning goals, since an estate and gift-tax charitable deduction for the entire amount of the gift is allowed.

Giving a gift through your will offers several advantages to you:

An outright bequest can be fully deductible for estate tax purposes.
A bequest is a revocable arrangement, which would allow you to make changes if your circumstances so warrant.
You may be able to make a larger gift through your bequest than may be possible otherwise.

A bequest can be made by preparing a new will or by adding a codicil to your present will. Your attorney can offer guidance about setting up a bequest to the Foundation.

Types of Bequests
There are several types of bequests that you may arrange for the Bogliasco Foundation:

A specific dollar amount or specified assets, such as securities, real estate or tangible personal property can be transferred to the Foundation.
A residuary bequest can be given, in which the Foundation receives all or a percentage of the remainder of your estate after all other obligations are met.
A contingent bequest can also be made, in which the Foundation becomes the beneficiary only if the named beneficiary is unable to accept the bequest.

Unrestricted gifts made through bequests are most appreciated and are of the greatest benefit since they provide flexibility to meet whatever needs are most urgent. The Foundation is also grateful to receive bequests designated for specific purposes. We would encourage you to discuss your wishes with us prior to executing your will so we can make sure that your bequest will accomplish what you want.

The Alegro Society is named after a beloved golden retriever who makes his home at the Liguria Study Center. There have been three dogs named Alegro who have lived at the Study Center through the years, the first having been given to the original owner of Villa dei Pini by King Juan Carlos of Spain.
